Added a rough draft biography. Will fill in links to other referenced Wiki articles as time permits. (done)

Will begin to add citations soon (I'm new to Wiki editing, so please be patient).

Use of first name

[edit]

I changed all references from "Arlene did so-and-so" to either "Golonka did so-and-so" or "she did so-and-so", per Manual of Style (biographies) - also it makes it read like a People magazine article. --rogerd 03:04, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for those changes. I wasn't aware of the biography style page, and I appreciate the reference. I'm the newbie to wikipedia who anonymously started expanding this article beyond a one-sentence stub a few weeks ago. I've finally decided it's time for me to "be bold" and create an account. I beginning to think I've just about exhausted the information on the web that's easy to find about Arlene Golonka, short of creating a somewhat dry and tedious list of all of her stage, TV, and film appearances. Doing so would just duplicate what's available in the various external links I've added, so I think I'll pass on that. If anyone knows of interesting, verifiable information pertaining to her life, it would be welcome. Itsfullofstars 20:25, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And you did a very nice job. When writing about entertainers (especially female ones), as opposed to people in government or historical figures, I have wondered if the first name is perhaps appropriate. I suppose we could say "Ms. Golonka....", but then it would sound like the New York Times. Again, you did a nice job expanding on this article. --rogerd 20:40, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
